Would you like to help with the Festival?

Put your mark in Santa Fe. SPIN is an all volunteer group. We have some jobs that we would love to find some volunteers to help with.

Individual’s  Needed - These are jobs that primarily require someone to coordinate the activities. This might mean being the person that receives all the relevant email, the person to plan the activities, and the person that spends the budgeted money.

1) FRIDAY EVENING INFORMAL DEMONSTRATIONS - On Friday evening (8-8-08) we have reserved all of the studios at the IAIA so that members can interact and show off techniques. The person in charge would cordinate refreshments, line up some demos in the various studios, and choose a better name for this event. Contact silkfashion@msn.com or call Lee at (218)310-8548 for more information.

2) SUNDAY MORNING AWARDS BREAKFAST - have for the most part left the Sunday breakfast meeting at the SFCC open. I need someone who will coordinate this meeting. Choose the breakfast , give away prizes, introduce the new board members, and most importantly urge chapter formation and activity. Contact silkfashion@msn.com or call Lee at (218)310-8548 for more information.

3) INTERNATIONAL COORDINATOR - I need someone to make contact with the international people who have enrolled to help them with transportation and housing. We want to make sure that no one gets lost in the shuffle. A French speaker would be helpful for this. Contact silkfashion@msn.com or call Lee at (218)310-8548 for more information.

Help  Needed - These are jobs that have a central coordinator but these coordinators could use some extra hands.

1) EL MUSEO CULTURAL - There will be a free 3 hour introduction to silk painting at El Museo Cultural de Santa Fe ( a multi-arts building in the Railyard area of Santa Fe) This is targeted at local artists, art teachers, and art students on August 2nd - the day before the Festival officially begins. Any SPIN member who arrives early will be invited to help out. This is being coordinated by Jean-Louis Mireault. If you would like to help contact him at miroir@videotron.ca.

2) WORKSHOP MATERIALS - We are working between the suppliers and teachers to provide materials for workshops. Julie Cox is is coordinating this effort. You can contact her at juliart1@mac.com

3) TEACHERS ART EXHIBIT -We are including a Teacher’s Exhibition as well as a Members Exhibition at the Festival. This is being coordinated by Suzanne Punch. You can contact her at punchsilk@yahoo.com
